Pharmacies
READ THIS ENTIRE PAGE BEFORE PLACING A PHARMACY ORDER. THE PROCEDURES ARE DIFFERENT THAN OTHER TYPES OF ORDERS.
Clarion Carrier will deliver certain prescriptions from local pharmacies.
Procedure for Pharmacy Orders:
1. Once a prescription is obtained, you must call the pharmacy to get approval for delivery. We are not allowed, by law, to call the pharmacy for you. (Note- this must be done for every delivery unless exemption has been granted.)
2. You must have a payment method on file at the pharmacy. We are not allowed, by law, to pay for prescriptions as a third-party payor. If you do not have a payment method on file, you must set one up before continuing.
3. Once approval is granted by the pharmacy AND a payment method is established, fill out the Universal Delivery Form under the Order tab, selecting the Pharmacy option.
4. The order will be picked up and delivered to the address in the form. The person whom the prescription(s) are for must be present for the delivery. Items will not be released until payment for the delivery is received.
Rules for Pharmacy Deliveries:
1. We will not deliver any pharmacy order without explicit approval from the pharmacist. Approval from the pharmacy must be granted for every delivery order, even if you've used our service before. We apologize for the extra phone calls, but this is done to protect us from liability in the event that a prescription changes to something we don't know about, and ensures that the pharmacy knows you are having your items delivered through us.
2. We will not deliver controlled substances of any level. If your prescription is on this list: (https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/schedules/orangebook/c_cs_alpha.pdf) or any future version of it, it is not eligible for delivery. (Use CTRL+F on Windows, CMD+F on MAC, or Find-In-Page on Mobile to search the list.)
3. We are not allowed to pay for your prescription medications, by law. You MUST have a payment method on file at the pharmacy to use this service. (49 Pa. Code § 27.18, (e)). (You pay the delivery fee via any method separately, but the items must be paid for at the pharmacy.)
4. The first time we deliver a prescription to your address, or the first time a new driver delivers a prescription to your address (when applicable), we may ID you (regardless of age). This is to ensure that the person ordering the delivery is not sending the prescription to a random residence, or a random person.
5. If a delivery involves multiple stops, and they're all in the same zone, the pharmacy will always be the last stop. If the multiple stops are in different zones, the pharmacy will be as close to last as is reasonable.
6. The "no in-house competition" rule does not apply to pharmacies on days where their services are not active. (Specifically, Clarion Pharmacy offers free delivery on certain days- we will not deliver from them, in their zones, on those days. We will deliver from them any other day.)
7. ALL prescription orders must use the order form, unless you've been granted an exemption from Clarion Carrier (likely due to technology limitations). This is in contrast to any other type of order which can be called or texted in. We need to have a clear record of all of these deliveries, hence the reason for the form. If you have a technology limitation, please contact us and we will work something out.
8. Ongoing discounts (EMT, University Staff, et cetera) do not apply to pharmacy orders unless explicitly stated in the Offers tab.
